Proverbs Study: Week Five
Share
We’ve made it, friend...the FINAL week of our study…Week Five!
Over the past month, we’ve walked verse by verse through the book of Proverbs, discovering timeless wisdom for everyday life. From guarding our words to walking in humility, trusting God’s direction and choosing peace over pride…this journey has been full of truth and transformation.
What a blessing it’s been to lean into God’s Word as a community and see how His wisdom speaks so clearly into our hearts today. I hope you’ve taken time to follow along!
As we close our study this week, our anchor verse reminds us where true beauty and value are found:
“Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.” - Proverbs 31:30
This verse is part of the famous Proverbs 31 passage: the portrait of a woman who is strong, wise, generous and anchored in faith. But what stands out most isn’t her accomplishments or appearance; it’s her heart posture. She fears the Lord, meaning she lives with deep reverence, trust and awe for Him.
In a world that celebrates surface-level success, this verse calls us to focus on what lasts: a heart that loves and honors God.
Sometimes I feel like that "Proverbs 31 woman" is portrayed as “perfect”. Always put together. The “perfect” mom who does everything right. The “perfect wife” who supports her husband abundantly…sometimes I feel like I CAN’T be her. Because I know, I am definitely NOT the perfect mom or the perfectly submissive wife. (Whew-that’s a hard one for me! Lol) Sometimes, I'm a hot-mess with just enough energy to get the kids to school on time - coming in hot on 2 wheels...barely making it.
💛 It’s not about perfect routines though - it’s about a surrendered heart.
💛 It’s not about doing it all - it’s about doing our best and doing what matters with grace.
💛 It’s not about looking put-together - it’s about walking closely with the One who holds it all together.
💛 It’s not about being the "perfect wife" or "perfect Mom" - it’s about loving with grace, not perfection.
So often we hold ourselves up to the Proverbs 31 woman like she’s an impossible standard - always kind, always capable, always composed. She's "perfect" right? But the truth is, Proverbs 31 isn’t a checklist of perfection - it’s a portrait of devotion.
It’s about a woman whose strength and wisdom flow from her relationship with God, not with people and not measured by her performance. The Proverbs 31 woman doesn’t do it all on her own; she draws her strength from the Lord. Some days she thrives and some days she simply shows up…mess and all - but her heart stays anchored in Him. That’s what makes her worthy of praise...not perfection, not having it all together but presence. That's grace. I'm so thankful for that! 💛

As you finalize this study and read through Proverbs 27 - 31 this week, notice how these final chapters come full circle. They remind us that wisdom begins with humility and ends with worship. Every lesson, every verse, it points us back to God...the source of all wisdom and strength. Something PEOPLE or this world certainly cannot give!
Friend, if you've followed along in this study, you’ve spent the last month seeking God’s wisdom one chapter at a time. That’s no small thing. You’ve planted seeds of truth in your heart, and I believe those seeds will continue to grow. My prayer is that this journey through Proverbs has encouraged you to keep showing up in God’s Word - day by day, week by week- long after October ends.
“Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.” - Proverbs 31:30
Remember sweet friend, true worth isn’t found in perfection. It's not found in appearances, achievements or the world’s approval. It’s found in living with reverence for God. That kind of life - rooted in wisdom, strength and love - has eternal value.
Let’s finish this study with gratitude, knowing that God’s wisdom isn’t just for a season; it’s for every day of our lives. 💛
Prayer:
“Lord, teach me to walk in Your wisdom and to value what You value. Let my heart be rooted in reverence and love for You above all else. Help me live with grace, humility, and a faith that shines from within.” 💛
You are so loved,
Kim xo
