Reintroducing Myself: A New Season, A Fresh Start, and A Little Block of Happy

Hey sweet friend!

If you’re reading this, I’m so glad you’re here. It’s been a while since I’ve shown up in this little corner of the internet and today felt like the perfect time to dust things off and reintroduce myself. Seasons change, hearts grow, and sometimes we all need a gentle reset. And since we’re expecting a nasty ice storm here in East Tennessee, there’s a good chance I’m writing this curled up on my sofa in my jammies with a BIG cup of coffee…lol. A perfect day to reconnect. 😊

I’ve missed sharing my thoughts and encouragement ... and those five blogs I never hit publish on? Well…they’ll be there waiting for another day. lol

My name is Kim, a midlife mama to two teenage, baseball-loving boys, and I’ve been married to my husband for 16 years. I became a believer at the age of 37, a late bloomer in faith, at least that’s what I used to call it. But the truth? God’s timing is always right on time. He found me exactly where I was...in a deep valley full of transitions, overwhelm, and questions I didn’t know how to answer alone. And He didn’t just rescue me… He renewed me, redirected me, and is still refining me every single day.

I posted my first blog in May of 2025 during a season when God was pruning me deeply. Little Block of Happy was born from a heart that knows what it feels like to be weary, stretched thin and still desperately wanting to live with intention, purpose, joy, and faith… definitely not perfection.

These last several months have felt a bit like survival mode, and if you’ve been following along, I’m sorry for the holiday hiatus. Life got a little…well…lifey. But thank you to every single person who reached out, downloaded materials and joined our Proverbs study. I’m back, so let’s do this…together.

Why I’m Here (And Why I’m Back)

Life has a way of pulling us in a dozen directions: school activities, sports schedules, work, family, caring for aging parents and then the quiet moments in between where we wonder if we’re doing enough or being enough. Where we ask, what is my purpose?

If you’re a midlife mama like me, maybe you’ve reached a point where you’re craving something deeper. Something steadier. Something rooted. Something MORE…because we were made for more. More hope, more love, more peace. More space to live as our best selves.

That’s what this space is about.

I’m here because I want you to know you’re not alone.

I’m here because I believe God meets us in our ordinary days and does extraordinary things we can share in community.

I’m here because midlife isn’t a crisis, it’s a calling, and it’s something every woman walks through in her own way.

And I want Little Block of Happy to feel like a friend who walks with you through every season...a gentle reminder that God is present in your everyday moments and that joy is still possible, right where you are.

What You Can Expect Here

This year...and all the years ahead...I hope this space becomes:

I want to offer scripture you can cling to, stories that remind you of hope, and products that speak life into your home and heart. I want to encourage you when your cup feels empty, while sprinkling in a few funny baseball-mom moments and reflections from my own faith journey. All work and no play makes Kim a dull girl, so we’re keeping things life-giving, encouraging and fun around here. Because life is busy…and we need joy in the mix.

Oh, and I’m also a dog mom! We just adopted the sweetest Golden Retriever we fostered for two months. Maddie is our 6-year-old yellow lab, and Binky is our sweet Golden rescue. You’ll be seeing plenty of them around here!

A Final Word from My Heart

Friend, I don’t know what season you’re in right now…Maybe it feels slow or heavy. Maybe everything is shifting beneath your feet. Maybe you’re trying to hold it all together while wondering if you’re doing any of it right.

I get it. I’ve been there.

But take heart, God is not finished with your story.

My prayer is that Little Block of Happy becomes a place where your faith is strengthened, your hope is renewed and your joy is sparked in every blog you read or Instagram post you scroll. A reminder that you can remain steadfast because the One who holds you is forever faithful.

Here’s to new beginnings, fresh grace and walking this journey together. Here’s to everything 2026 holds…I’m here for it. Let’s do this, together.
