Proverbs Study - Week Three

Proverbs Study - Week Three

Hey sweet friend!

Here we are at Week Three of our Proverbs study! Can you believe how far we’ve come?

Over the last two weeks, we’ve walked through the opening chapters of Proverbs, discovering how wisdom begins with God and how integrity shapes the way we live. Now, we turn the page into Proverbs 14–19, a section filled with reminders about life, choices, and the importance of the words we speak.

These chapters are full of contrasts…foolishness and wisdom, strife and peace, laziness and diligence. Over and over, Proverbs invites us to think about what kind of life we’re building and how our daily decisions align with God’s truth.

The key verse for this week reminds us: “The fear of the Lord leads to life; then one rests content, untouched by trouble.” – Proverbs 19:23

This is such a powerful reminder that true rest and contentment don’t come from striving or chasing after more, they come from living in reverence and trust toward God.

Here’s this week’s reading plan:

October 15: Proverbs 14

October 16: Proverbs 15

October 17: Proverbs 16

October 18: Proverbs 17

October 19: Proverbs 18

October 20: Proverbs 19

October 21: Reflection Day

Weekly Reflection: Proverbs 14 - 19

This week, let’s hold onto Proverbs 18:21 - “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” Our words matter. They can speak life into our families, friendships, and workplaces, or they can cause harm and division.

As you read through Proverbs 14 - 19, pay attention to the verses that talk about the tongue, contentment, and wisdom. Ask yourself: Am I using my words to build others up? Am I choosing gratitude and contentment over striving and comparison? On hard days, these take conscious effort!

Friend, the fear of the Lord brings life and peace, and it shows up in how we live and speak every single day. Let’s commit this week to speak words of life, walk in wisdom, and rest in God’s peace together.

It is my prayer that you enjoy diving deep into Proverbs with me. I hope my free printables help guide you along the way!

You are so loved!
